I received the prized rock Fluorite, in the mail the other day from George and though I've already expressed my appreciation to him for it, I have to tell you it is one marvelous piece of earth. The crystals look like tiny computer chips dipped in dark chocolate.

Historically, the Missouri Bootheel was a swamp. During the 1811-12 earthquakes, the Bootheel was a swamp. Since 1900, the Bootheel has no longer been a swamp, but lots of flat agricultural land overlain with a network of drainage ditches.

Stand Deyo is claiming a hit on the Taiwan 6.6 that occured today, claiming to have 'nailed it' on this Oct 10th map. On that map he did have a new circle centered right on the epicenter. But...always a but, isn't there? :)
