The US Today earthquake article said the Japan meteorological dept
(in charge of quakes) used a faster method quake detection to speed
the earthquake alert by three minutes.  In three minutes a potential
tsunami can move several hundred miles, killing more people.

So I got back Wednesday from a very relaxing, 2 day trip.
I went out into the wilderness and did a bit of prospecting.

Don't know if anyone missed me, but I've been offline for a

Local quake that I missed.  What causes the sinusoidal pattern in the
baseline of several of the traces?
