China earthquake: who predicted it?14 May 2008 21:37 GMT1
So. Which of the posters here who claims to be able to forecast
or predict earthquakes got this one right? And if they got
blindsided by it, how come? Or ditto if they've been lauding
someone else's prognostic abilities?

FUD.
Don't be put off by it in any of its forms. What is the worst that
could happen? In 2004, the Boxing Day disaster that started with an
earthquake at Banda Atjeh swept the Indian Ocean as far as Africa.
Will there be another earthquake or aftershock in Chongqing tonight?12 May 2008 22:06 GMT6
Can someone predict that for me?
If you have Google Earth12 May 2008 18:58 GMT1
Put in the following (Copy and Paste) and you will see the fault area
traversing from East/West through the mountains. Offset valleys and
rivers are plainly seen and the terrain, being mountainous gives a
very clear picture of how long this fault has been working this area.

to NOT discuss this latest quake in China,
like we didn't discuss the one off Japan a few days ago.

Floods in the NMSZ and earthquakes12 May 2008 13:23 GMT8
Just for fun, on a weather board I've been doing a day-by-day timeline
of the 1927 Mississippi River valley floods, and noticed today after
looking at some historical data of intraplate earthquakes at

Reno appears to be the melding of the Cascades into the Sierra09 May 2008 15:17 GMT4
With Reno being between the Lassen and Tahoe volcanic zones, EQ's in
the area are not uncommon. This area extends down to past China Lake
and the Lava Falls park in the Mojave Desert. The area from Mammoth
North to Goose Lake is frequented by many small to moderate quakes. It

14:1207 May 2008 14:22 GMT11
This spell runs from April 28th to May 5th. I expect an earthquake in
the region of 7.3 to occur early in it. However there was a series of
tornadoes running at the end of the last spell so maybe it will not
arrive.
Current MOON, right on my site!05 May 2008 05:11 GMT2
Do you really feel there is absolutely no connection between the
Moon's phases and position, relative to the earth, and seismic
activity?  Are you SURE?  Upon what particular statistics are you
basing your theory?
FSU geochemist challenges key theory regarding Earth's formation03 May 2008 03:36 GMT1
Working with colleagues from NASA, a Florida State University
researcher has published a paper that calls into question three
decades of conventional wisdom regarding some of the physical
processes that helped shape the Earth as we know it today.

There is no censor. There is no keeper of the keys. There are no
rules. Post all you want to and don't worry about the rattle brain
loud-mouth idiots. There is nothing they can do. You may post
something that the know-it-all's can read. These spastic assbites
