Hi people,
I have read that in large (kW and up) motors the flux density in the air gap
is commonly around 0.5T Can anyone tell me what this figure is in the small
hobbyist motors, the 1-10 Watt type ones?

Hey, all. I'm a high school student with a very basic knowledge of
physics (I just started the class a week ago). Our first assignment is
a competetion-- We are to build an electromagnet, and the one which
can pick up the most paper clips is the winner. Standard fare.

Two repelling staff magnets in a plastic case with the lower attached
to the bottom of the plastic case the other one free floating abobe.
Then copper thread makin a coil around the plastic case.
Then anohter repelling magnet in form of a simple pendelum is started

Photodetectors and i am interested to know if there has been any work
done to make such a device at SWIR(1-3um), MWIR (3-6) and LWIR (6-15).
Till now my search has only given me devices at Near Infra red or
