French newsgroup about electromagnetics ?30 Apr 2005 15:55 GMT2
I don't speak fluently English but I want to learn and understand
eletromagnetics.
Do you now a french newsgroup about electromagnetics or physics ?
Half-Dipole Antenna Question30 Apr 2005 15:51 GMT1
I made a half-dipole antenna for my home stereo from wire scraps I had.  It
works fine, but unfortunately, my two favorite radio stations are
geographically 90 degrees apart (East, and South).  With the dipole being a
directional antenna, that, of course, means sacrificing one ...
Theories of electromagnetic mass (also with special reference to Aleksandar Vukelja)30 Apr 2005 14:01 GMT11
Various theories have been put forward in the last century or so
attempting to explain the phenomenon of intertial mass in terms of the
electromagnetic interactions of the charged particles of which that
mass consists.
Is this DC motor effect possible?30 Apr 2005 04:53 GMT3
I hope this is the right group in which to post this question, but
please advise if it may not be.
I was curious as to whether or not a certain effect should be
possible... I refer to this kind of set-up:
What is the speed of light in copper27 Apr 2005 01:35 GMT3
Is there a table of the speed of electromagnetism in different materials,
such as copper.  I can only find the speed of light in glass, diamond,
galliumPhosphide eg transparent materials with a refractive index.
My personal history of Maxwell Equations; neutrinolizing and now  cosmic-coulombizing25 Apr 2005 21:25 GMT1
I wanted to neutrinolize the Maxwell Equations in the 1990s. I wanted to
do this because I felt DeBroglie was correct on his intuition that the
neutrino and photon flip flop into one another. I was reinforced with
the idea that gravity was a real force distinct from Coulomb force ...
Quickfield: E&M induction25 Apr 2005 03:43 GMT1
I am using Quickfield to model the effects of two coils, one larger
than the other, on each other.  The first coil is set with a current
density of 100,000 A/m^2 through it while the coil on the right has 0
current density and u=1.  The problem was set up in magnetostatics.
Maxwell Theory Paradox24 Apr 2005 22:42 GMT9
Maxwell's first equation can be written as well in differential as
in integral form. A special variant of the integral form is its
parallel-planes version:
The difference between the integrals of the electric flux through
Propagation of electromagnetic waves21 Apr 2005 07:22 GMT4
I know these are dumb questions...but I believe the most mysterious
also(atleast to me)!!!
How is propagation of electromagnetic waves affected by change in
dielectric constant of the atmosphere?
Questions21 Apr 2005 06:15 GMT1
I know (don't ask me how:) ) that following questions are stupid, but I need
to know :)
1. I can't get a grip on how electric field is produced in a relativly long
wire, for instance connected on a 1.5 V battery, about 5 meters long. How
Electric shock21 Apr 2005 04:15 GMT4
I was standing  holding an umbrella on the train station platform in
Cambridge.  I gently touched the top of my head with one of the metal
spokes in the umbrella and received a slightly painful shock,
accompanied by a fizzing humming sound.  There were overhead power
electric field distribution?17 Apr 2005 16:15 GMT1
imagine a point at 1000 V: what is the behaviour of the electric field
around it? Does it change if you change the middle material (for
example, plastic in place of air and then iron in place of plastic)?
Thanks

Misunderstood Electron Dynamics in Atoms (details of how QM is flawed)16 Apr 2005 18:06 GMT16
A very brilliant physicist in the eastern hemisphere with extreme
credentials and shining Ph.D in physics, says quantum mechanics
is based on a flawed foundation. He offers an alternative model
where all the data of QM can be explained (the extreme details
correcting Landau & Lifschitz in "The Classical Theory of Fields" on  Maxwell derivation15 Apr 2005 10:57 GMT4
I have not received this book yet and it may take a month before I get
it in my hands.
But what I expect to find is that Landau and Lifschitz never derived the
Maxwell theory from starting principles of Least Action or Least Time.
