Near field magnetic fields / point dipoles / nonlinear properties of near field30 Sep 2006 00:10 GMT3
I have a question about the near filed operation of antennas or
radiators.
1) Are the fields in the near field area nonlinear ?
2) Can near fields interfere with one another?
Permanent Magnet engine21 Sep 2006 05:38 GMT2
Can someone out there tell me why this model wont work.
Get a donut shaped perfectly circular magnet, with the north pole on
the inside of the hole, and the south pole on the outside of the donut.
Place a bar magnet on the exact center of the hole with an axle punched
How to calculate specs for an inductive generator/alternator?20 Sep 2006 01:21 GMT2
I want to design a generator using a permanent magnet as the center
stator and a ring of coils in a circle that rotat around the magnet,
thereby generating an electric current as the coils move through the
magnetic field of the permanent magnet.
Converting VECTORS11 Sep 2006 13:05 GMT5
I have the following questions:
1) How can we convert a *vector* from the rectangular coordinate system
to spherical?
2) How can we add two vectors in the spherical coordinate system (w/o
Displacement current06 Sep 2006 14:29 GMT2
Two parallel conducting planes (C) are
placed in a uniform, time-invariant
electric field (E) normal to the
conducting planes.
Where is the polarization energy hidden and where does the force act on dielectric?06 Sep 2006 09:08 GMT1
According to D. Griffiths, the polarization energy corresponds to
stretching the dielectric molecules. He writes that if we picture the
positive and negative charges as held together by tiny springs, the
spring energy, associated with polarizing each molecule, must be taken
Gordon W. F. Drake, Editor of Physical Review A, breaks "Physical Review A Editorial Policies and Practices"05 Sep 2006 21:04 GMT3
According to "PHYSICAL REVIEW A EDITORIAL POLICIES AND PRACTICES"
authors may appeal a rejection of their paper by the Editor(s). In the
case of a formal appeal, the paper will be sent to a member of the
Editorial Board. But Dr. Drake did not send my paper properly. So, I am
Coulomb Force Between A Charge Rod & A Particle01 Sep 2006 03:45 GMT1
I have a simple physics question, which I wonder if somebody could help
me with as I am a computer science person trying to use Coulomb force as
an error metric.
In 3D space, if I have a charged rod, (length l with start and end
