Farnsworth Fusor fusion fuels30 Apr 2005 11:35 GMT1
I just finished browsing the info and pictures of a Farnsworth fusor
type device at:
http://fti.neep.wisc.edu/iec/ftisite1.htm
The site lists D-3HE, D-D and 3He-3He reactions.  Does anyone know of
More Bad Ideas Than Just Cold Fusion29 Apr 2005 00:42 GMT5
There should be a whole lot more bad ideas out there than just
catalytic electrode "cold" fusion.  By wasting a lot of time on one bad
idea we are neglecting all the other bad ideas.

How Did We Get The Elements After Iron (FE)?28 Apr 2005 19:52 GMT5
I know how the lighter elements (Those below Iron) were synthesized
(Through nuclear Fusion in stars). But how were the elements above Iron
created?  Doesn't the curve of the binding energy decrease after FE
(Iron)? Hence while fusing light nuclei up to FE release more energy
More proof from Taleyarkhan and Lahey28 Apr 2005 16:09 GMT4
Looks like Taleyarkhan and Lahey are coming through with that additional
peer reviewed proof that so many of you seemed sure they would never be
able to do.
And this time they are gong to be backed by replications and variations on
Cold Fusion Projects27 Apr 2005 23:50 GMT3
I am the lead physicist for ARC the Atomic Research Center . We have
been researching Fusion and Cold Fusion for some time now and have
begun a webpage: http://atomicresearchcenter.blogspot.com/ reporting
our observations. If anyone is interested in joining, the information

I don't know if anyone posted this:
PYROFUSION: A ROOM-TEMPERATURE, PALM-SIZED NUCLEAR FUSION DEVICE
has been reported by a UCLA collaboration, potentially leading to
new kinds of fusion devices and other novel applications such as
So What If Fusion Is Rare In Nature?27 Apr 2005 21:15 GMT4
Using fission to start a fusion reaction isn't just rare in Nature,
it's non existent.  It only happens artificially when humans build
H-bombs.
The "fusion is rare in Nature" argument shouldn't be ignored, but it
Nano Motor27 Apr 2005 14:22 GMT19
_Science News_ said this motor has 100,000,000 times the specific power
of a reciprocating engine.  That sounds like a reason to believe easy
fusion might be possible.

Origin of Amospheric Carbon-1427 Apr 2005 05:42 GMT3
A dumb question I realize, but how does the Carbon-14 in the atmosphere
originate, and why has it remained at a relatively stable concentration
for literally millions of years?
My guess is that it's contantly being produced as the result of cosmic

Illusion and Self Delusion vs. Scientific Reality25 Apr 2005 22:49 GMT28
There has been a recent influx of posters on this newsgroup that hope
to restore the long dead notion of Cold Fusion back to life, but only
God can restore life to a dead corpse!
Note that none of these posters appear to have sufficient scientific
Sorrow24 Apr 2005 22:15 GMT8
I am ignored and rediculed by all.  A person who supported me was
leucotomised.
Perhaps I'm wrong?
Never mind, not long to live.  Not much to live for.
Instead of A Few Good Ideas That Don't Work . . .24 Apr 2005 01:08 GMT2
. . . I was thinking of generating a lot of bad ideas that don't work.
Maybe a good one would slip in by accident.

i know this is a fusion ng but what about breeder reactors?23 Apr 2005 17:12 GMT1
i'm a layman, not a physicist.
been seeing a lot of "green" proponents of fast breeder reactors.
they make convincing arguments.
are they right?
