It is a coil from a demountable transformer I bought from Maplin
electronics, two 12 volt 5 watt zenner diodes and a 330 n 250 v capacitor.

My Green car runs on petrol. I filled it with 34 l of ordinary unleaded
petrol and it did 102 miles before the first light of the display went out,
there are 6 to a full tank so each is worth 34/6 l =5.6 l ie 18 miles/l or
81 miles a gallon.
