A lay correspondent of mine gives this description of her rock:
"This five sided rock is approx. 25 mm at it's widest, (from pointy end
to pointy end).

I noticed a straight,thin but apparently deep, isolated line across a
rock in a recent picture form Spirit rover on Mars.
This is the picture, the rock is on the bottom right:

Just watched a Nature episode on Plitvice Lakes National Park.  Beautiful
place. Sound like it is just up your alley.  Show as a little short on
geology but talked about the cold water deposition of Travertine.
