I am hoping someone can recommend a book that will identify rocks. I am living overseas therefore a trip to B.N. is not possible. I hike in the mountains frequently and see some unusual rock formations. I would like for the book to be fairly small in size that will fit in a pocket

I'm thinking of using black/green slate in a fish tank. I know the black color comes from graphite which is perfectly safe, since it's just carbon. The green color comes from chlorite, correct? Is chlorite safe? Could chlorite prove dangerous to freshwater fish or shrimp?
