I have a small (5" x 2" x 2") crystal that I want to display on my coffee table. Right now it's just sitting on the table, and that looks kind of lame. I'm thinking I need something like a wire stand/holder to hold it up off the table and make it look more like a

I picked up some clumps of unidentified rock at a gift shop last week in Nova Scotia. Cracking it open, I found several of what I think are quartz crystals(typical quartz formation). They are clearer than any I've seen - like perfect glass - and most have a little flake of black

It is simply remarkable that crustal movement is discussed as though the Earth were a stationary sphere in space and as having no connection to its astronomical roots in terms of formation and subsequently the continuing effect on crustal movement.
