Apologies as I'm sure this has been asked before, but is there any research done into the connection between the moon and earthquakes/volcanoes. Surely this must be the largest disturbance to the earth likely to trigger the sudden slippages at faults/plates.

Anyone know how to convert weight proportions (ppm) to isotopic proportions? For example, if a mineral in a rock was found to contain 1.8ppm (by weight) of 206Pb and 6.0ppm (by weight) of 238U The method for calculating and the correct answer would be appreciated.
