There is a possibility that large quanities of ice melting in artic regions could alter the weight on the "floating" tectonic plates, causing them to move? Is this what causes the major continents to move periodically?

I have a dim memory that what is often described as the oxidation of pyrite generating heat in freshly-exposed sediments etc, is actually the oxidation of marcasite, a structural variant of pyrite. Or is my memory fading?
