I am not a geologist or geographer, and this is my first post to this group. I would like to know how to correctly desrcibe a certain landform in south-east France which is indicated on a map as the 'Serre de Lauzet'.

My maps of the Appalachians seem to show every geologic feature from Alabama to Newfoundland. They don't, however, show where the various culturally-named ranges start and end, e.g., the Poconos, the Catskills, the Blue Ridge, the Black Mountains, the Alleghenies, etc.

I had a look at the Russian experiments, and they seem to be able to produce hydrocarbons from marble, FeO and water in good agreement with thermodynamic considerations. For short C will be hydrogenated and FeO oxidated - that's how I read
