wind speed increase over a ridge and atmospheric gravity waves30 Apr 2005 05:42 GMT4
Hello and thanks for reading this,
We have an observatory on top of a mountain and I notice
that the wind speed is above the radiosonde winds and NAM 40Km
prediction for this location. I also observe 5 to 15 minute oscillations
Goddamned pathetic pests30 Apr 2005 03:32 GMT18
It has come to my attention that some goddamned pathetic pests such as the
TQ pest and some other dummies from ne.weather have come to post their lies
and crap about me.  I won't be able to respond to any of it for the next
11 days or so, but when I come back don't be surprised if ...

Probability of Rainfall?27 Apr 2005 04:43 GMT13
If the weather forcast says we have a 50% chance of rain today, and a
40% chance of rain tomorrow, what is the chance that we will have rain
during that 48 hour period?  And what is the probability that we will
have rain each day during that 48 hour period?
Lazy FAA Observer at Trenton-Mercer Airport26 Apr 2005 23:56 GMT62
The following is an e-mail exchange between myself and James Pate, who
I believe is the Air Traffic Manager at Trenton-Mercer Airport. Its
ridiculous the lengths these guys will go to avoid responsibility for

Buying an analog weather station24 Apr 2005 23:07 GMT6
I'm looking to buy an analog weather station. In particular, I'm looking
at the wall mounted type with individual thermometer, barometer and
hydrometer that come mounted on a board.  Does anyone have any
suggestions on what I should look for or avoid?  Are they accurate? Does

(Radiosonde data) How do I determine significant levels?21 Apr 2005 02:58 GMT1
I am working with the pressure, temperature and relative humidity data
from radiosonde launches. The data is too detailed and noisy and we
wanted to generate mandatory and significant levels in order to make
the data more useful. We are having a problem defining which levels are

Looking for land/water data on 5X5 grid.14 Apr 2005 04:34 GMT15
My son needs a fraction of land/water table for a 5 degree by 5 degree
grid.
Anyone willing to save him the time squinting at an atlas and inputing
all 2,592, or 72*36, grid squares?
