| GRAVITY - Law or Theory | 28 Jan 2007 12:40 GMT | 1 |
I was always taught it was a Scientific Law; now I'm being told it's "just a theory". I have been looking all over the Internet to find the proper and true definition/explanaition but all I find is coflict. Many say yes, and some say no. Which is it and why?

| "Is String Theory Justified?" | 21 Jan 2007 17:33 GMT | 1 |
"Is String Theory Justified?" The holy grail of theoretical physics seems to be the generation of a "theory of everything". It is the goal to generate a single set of equations which deals with all physical processes. Mathematical theoreticians have

"The Arrow of Time" Over the years the immutable passage of time from past to future has been likened to the passage of an arrow, "the Arrow of Time". There have been numerous speculations as to why time should only progress in that

| Doesn't the existence of Dark Matter cause us to downgrade the strength of gravity by 90% | 16 Jan 2007 14:14 GMT | 35 |
Something mentioned on another thread has stuck me...... Ok 90% of matter is "dark". It doesn't interact with normal matter except through gravitation. We didn't know it was there until recently.

| Gravity bubbles | 15 Jan 2007 23:10 GMT | 3 |
You know one doesn't talk of wind bubbles in hurricanes. But one measures the energy of a storm that is not only its weight. The idea in physics is that we are trying to measure something. Since we cannot perceive gravity as something that blows like

| The sun energy source is not nuclear fusion, but magnetic fields from the center of the Galaxy. | 12 Jan 2007 03:38 GMT | 1 |
I have this idea regarding the sun energy and I would like to know what you think of it. The article below contradicts the usual explanation for the sun energy source as a fusion reactor and suggests that the sun is heated by magnetic fields from the Galactic center.

| Geometry is not math - it is theoretical physics | 11 Jan 2007 14:28 GMT | 1 |
Suppose we have a physical object: rectangular triangle with the sides 3,4,5. We want to describe it. We name the tops A,B,C and at first prescribe arbitrary coordinates: A(a,b); B(c,d); C(e,f). We have 6 unknown coordinates which have to satisfy 3 equations of distances
