projector optics17 Sep 2004 00:20 GMT1
i will have to design a projector system in my lab.I have been given
a fresnel lens and an objective(projection lens). What i require is to
find the equations which give the relation b/w the focal lengths
f1,f2,f3,f4 and the distance d1,d2,d3.
Absolutely nobody seems to want to sell us MFE actuators16 Sep 2004 16:22 GMT10
I recieved this from spectronika after asking them for a quote on some
MFE's and driver boards...after waiting 3 weeks for them to get back
from their holiday i get this:-
Hi Adrian,
Spectrometer to test filters/lenses (UV/VIS/IR)16 Sep 2004 03:23 GMT11
Any ideas how to accomplish transmissing curves
for filters/lenses 200....1500nm?
Which apparatus would be recommendet?

Question on detection depth of Fourier Domain OCT16 Sep 2004 01:37 GMT1
It is widely accepted that, in Fourrier domain OCT, depth information
can be obtained without position scan of the reference mirror. They
can be calculted from the Fourier transform of the spectral response
of the FDOCT.
Holmium laser W vs. J16 Sep 2004 01:02 GMT3
Sorry to bring this up again, but I am not clear on it.
Today we used 32,615 joules using 28,955 pulses total
for 72 minutes and 49 seconds.  Below the joule setting
the laser read 9 watts.  The laser was set at 1.5 joules
Ti:Sa laser help15 Sep 2004 21:05 GMT13
Are there any good resources for those seeking to build a titanium
sapphire laser?  Our lab is trying to restore a custom-built Ti:Sa
laser donated by another lab.  From the looks of things, it's using a
pockels cell for mode-locking.  I did search google, but did not find
aligning lasers...15 Sep 2004 14:00 GMT7
Hey All..
after having the I -90 set idle for a while I decided it was time to
heat the tube up for a while to keep the pressures down ...
seems as it was sitting on the bench minding it own business, its
color calibration of microscopic images15 Sep 2004 12:07 GMT19
I would like to calibrate the color of images acquired with a digital
camera attached to a microscope. I have collected a lot of information
about color calibration and I set up a procedure, but I am having some
problems.
EDS in TEM problem15 Sep 2004 03:55 GMT3
Recently, we tried EDS analysis of  non-carbon nanotubes (20-30 nm in
diameter) in TEM microscope (Tecnai F20).
The signals from compositional elements are very tiny in comparison with the
cupper and carbon signals, which makes perfect sense, because we used carbon
Eye protection for CO2 lasers15 Sep 2004 02:03 GMT7
I am hopefully going to be getting a 20W sealed CO2 laser in the near
future.  I am going to be using it for laser cutting on a homebrew CNC
gantry.
I have heard several times that you can use normal goggles for eye

Help...Is a specular gloss meter just a reflectometer?14 Sep 2004 20:35 GMT2
After reviewing ASTM regarding gloss measurement standards it appears
that measuring gloss with a gloss meter as it pertains to metals and
painted surfaces is no more than a reflectometer operating in the CIE
illuminant C mode. I realize that measuring haze or DOI is different
World-record for highest reflective NA14 Sep 2004 17:26 GMT11
Does anyone have information (literature, references) on the
highest-NA systems built using reflective optics (all mirrors) only?
Thanks,
Fred
Buying short length of SMF2814 Sep 2004 15:21 GMT3
Can you tell me where I can buy (preferably in Europe) short length (~ 200
m) of SMF28 fibers. Corning tax 400$ for length less than 25km!!
Thanks in advance

infrared laser pointer14 Sep 2004 13:34 GMT4
Im having trouble locating a low cost ir laser pointer. something
around 800 to 1000 nm, and 0.8 to 1.0 mw would be nice. did a google,
but couldnt find any 1mw or under.
