488nm diodes?16 Oct 2004 01:34 GMT10
I know a lot of progress has been made in diode lasers. But I am looking
for a 488nm diode approx 10-15 mW hopefully pen sized. I am not sure if
any exist at least.
spectra physics 1.3 watt diodes now 1.6 watts?16 Oct 2004 01:26 GMT1
I went to the SP website to get a data sheet for some SCT100-808-F2-01 open
heatsink 808nm diodes I own (I keep forgetting which terminal is the cathode
each time I put them away for a half year).  I noticed they do not have this
part anymore, but they have the SCT100-808-M2-01, ...
Vanadate and KTP16 Oct 2004 00:17 GMT23
I have broken my laser module yesterday, the IR diode seems to be ok,
I can see a light with my digital camera, but it seems me abnormal
that I don't feel warm they I fire it very close to my finger.
The green beam was ~100mW, it was stinging my finger and burning black
Viasho/LambdaPro/Lasever DPSS15 Oct 2004 10:58 GMT6
I wanna buy one DPSS from those Chinese. Do you have experience with
them who may be better? What are their prices now for 100/200mw?
Any one to help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

CuBr laser power supply questions15 Oct 2004 03:32 GMT15
I am a mechanical engineering student at Oregon State University and plan to
build a high power laser (20 Watt CuBr) as my senior project.  I have been
researching the design for a few years and have solutions for everything
vacuum and mechanically related.  The power supply is ...

lens suggestons14 Oct 2004 21:26 GMT1
Suggestions will be appreciated of a source for wide-angle of fisheye
lens with the image size ~16mm (efl ~5mm or so).  C-mount or longer
working distance.

HeCd 345nm UV line?14 Oct 2004 21:19 GMT14
Hello, I am looking for a 355 nm cw laser.  A lot of what I find is
quasi-cw and that doesn't work for my application.
In my searches it seems that HeCd may have a line at 354 which may be
close enough.  It seems like 325 is a preferred HeCd UV line.  Can
Other High-Index Materials14 Oct 2004 18:32 GMT1
Recently, there were some inquiries here about the optical data of
diamond and cubic zirconia. I have just found on Google that pure
silicon carbide, as the material Moissanite, is also transparent, and
has an index of refraction above 2.
Cool Cresent Moon, saw it optically with my own eyes.14 Oct 2004 15:36 GMT2
This is on topic because you need to use your eyes to see the Moon and
eyes is optics. :-)
I just saw the cresent moon too and it was soooooooooo coooooool.
It reminded me that about every 28 days, the moon completes one
Dark rectangular area in SEM14 Oct 2004 04:22 GMT4
Hello, everyone,
when I wanted to take SEM pictures of a Au-coated ceramic surface, I
often encounter one problem. I used a higher magnification image to
get a better focus. When I turned down to the desired (lower)
Diffraction Film14 Oct 2004 02:27 GMT4
I recently ordered some holographic diffraction film for use in my students'
projects. My intentions were to overlay the film over top of designs and
have a multi-spectral, vibrant effect that is visible as you moved your head
from side to side.

Use google translate if needed.  Looks like it may be worth the price.
Anyone have any comments?
Thanks,
Dirt cheap optical design program that is legal.13 Oct 2004 20:50 GMT14
Its legal, it isn't stollen. I wrote it. $49.00 buys all.

Water-cooling lasers13 Oct 2004 19:29 GMT1
Do higher-power argon lasers need de-ionized (non-conductive) water
and/or water chillers for cooling, or can you use 'open loop' city
water or other sources?
