new yag laser pump wavelength?07 Oct 2004 09:53 GMT2
I saw some 20 watt diode bars on ebay that are 770nm.  I also saw what looked
like part of a lightwave laser system that had three of these direct pumping a
yag rod.  It sorta looked like they were out of one of the 532nm high power
lightwave systems.
First non-toy laser suggestions?07 Oct 2004 04:24 GMT11
Hi all. I've been contemplating purchasing my first non-toy,
relatively high powered laser system for personal experimentation and
possible future use in my high school physics classroom.
If the unit was also usable for entertainment, that would be a plus (I
Dye / DPSS Pumping06 Oct 2004 22:19 GMT3
The other night I was experimenting with some left over dye from a medical
Argon / Dye Laser that I had stripped down. I was illuminating the some of
the dye using a 100mW 532nm laser (DPSS).
I had placed a small drop of the dye into the bore of a broken HeNe laser
Photonic crystal fibers06 Oct 2004 03:47 GMT1
Do you know a www with pictures of mode patterns in photonic crystal
fibers?

Seeking: 440-ish Violet DPSS laser05 Oct 2004 20:27 GMT1
I come again seeking the wisdom of the group.
I need, for the purpose of exposing holograms, what would effectively be a
DPSS substitute version of a violet HeCd laser, up to a couple hundred mw
(may be wishful thinking) in all the single mode, single frequency, stable,
Curt , Fleetie looking for those mirror pics?05 Oct 2004 18:25 GMT1
AFAIR Fleetie you had the pics of Curt`s big `searchlight` mirror hosted
somewhere, do you or Curt still have them up somewhere>
Thanks

Dear colleagues,
at my institute we want to built a pattern projector for a technical
AOM strange effect05 Oct 2004 13:39 GMT30
may be it's not strange, but only something I don't know or don't understand
:-)
This is the setup:

I am in need of the control pad for the g scan head. can the head be
used with software and out put card. i have the old (laser painter).
any info would be great.
thanks much jeff
Elliptical Reflector Lamps05 Oct 2004 08:35 GMT3
I am looking for a source of lamps for use in scientific applications
with the following characteristics: tungsten halogen, greater than
20W, UV-transmitting envelope, elliptical reflector with aluminum
coating, MR11 or MR16 prefered.
InGaAs-PIN detector responsivity @ 850nm?05 Oct 2004 03:32 GMT2
To all,
I was hoping to understand a bit more about the responsivity of
InGaAs detectors at 850 nm for use with GigE connectivity?  Does
anyone know what the level of sensivity achieved and more specifically
Pointer power tests04 Oct 2004 23:22 GMT3
Was curious about the power of a couple laser pointers, and since I
don't have access to any official laser wattmeter, I decided to do a
simple consumption reading and got surprisingly disparate results.
The two pointers are a 650nm and a 532nm off the shelf, no mods etc.
Opto-Mechanic components04 Oct 2004 22:35 GMT4
Interested in buying a complete package of opto-mechanic components?

Scan fail boards04 Oct 2004 20:25 GMT1
Hey there,
After searching the net, we have discovered three scan safety boards,
that  work a little differently. There is the medialas board, and the
hb-laser board that both seem to work on beam velocity. The ela board
Nylon Diode insulators from Lexel 85 PS04 Oct 2004 19:07 GMT2
I recently bought two Lexel 85 argon laser systems from a university surplus
auction.  Both power supplies had a bad transistor and two bad diodes
(shorted).  I was able to pull the parts from one supply to fix the other
and I have new parts on the way for supply #2.  The small ...
