Collimator25 Nov 2004 23:10 GMT3
Does anyone know of a place to purchase a collimator in the UK?
My DPSS systems produce a 3mm beam which is fractionally too large for my
scanners, so I'm wondering if I can collimate it and reduce it in size?

Who has the PA1-35A from Diagnostic?25 Nov 2004 04:33 GMT3
I am interested in people who are using the PA1-35A from Diagnostic
Instrument Inc. or a setup similar to this one. This adapter mounts on an
ISO 38mm port and has a non-compensating 2.5x photo eyepiece. It is used to
connect SLR and DSLR cameras to a microscope. (I am using a ...
SP107 HeNe laser tweaking25 Nov 2004 02:46 GMT2
I decided it was about time I dug out the SP107 and fitted the new Brewster
covers that I paid a small fortune for. Having just tested out Opticlean for
the first time last week, I decided the 107 would be the next victim ;-) I
cleaned the brewster windows and (very cautiously) the ...

Coherent LaserCheck24 Nov 2004 21:52 GMT4
Does anyone know where I may be able to purchase a lasercheck at a
reasonable price, preferably in the UK, but from anywhere really ?
I am looking to obtain one for hobby use, and to help with my project, but
sadly the list price for a new one is outside my budget.

I am looking for a company that can manufacture a tapered clad rod.

Hardness  and suitability of quartz/fused silica forWindows24 Nov 2004 09:17 GMT8
We have a window on an optical instrument that is getting scratched.
It is made of BK7 ( koop hardness 520).
We've thought about using quartz.
The fused silica Koop Hardness is listed as 522 and scratches pretty
Collimating reflector for side-emitting lamp24 Nov 2004 03:13 GMT5
I have a parabolic collimating reflector for a lamp that radiates mostly to
the sides, so instead of a full parabola, I only need a ring reflector that
encompasses 75 to 90 degrees from forward.
It needs to be just this portion to reduce the depth of the fixture.
Questions about Voice Coil actuated (Silicon) mirrors to direct CO2 beam24 Nov 2004 02:20 GMT5
In anticipation of aquiring a reasonably priced used CO2 laser one of these days,
my goal being to cut .002" mylar, I just bought a couple of silicon mirrors posted
on Ebay in "like new" condition for $15 each.  I figure they might come in handy
some day for something or I can ...
Chrome or Nickel plating for DI water?24 Nov 2004 00:42 GMT2
The pump for the water circulation system on my arc lamp pumped yag laser
appeared to be stainless steel but when I got it apart for repairs there was
a considerable amount of green discoloration to the metal.  Apparently the
part (front housing cover) is made of brass or bronze ...
