| Looking for SMA fiber optic colimator/focuser for laser. | 22 Dec 2004 12:34 GMT | 4 |
Can anyone point me in the right direction to buy one of these? Laser has 3 diode laser arrays rated at 35W each, pigtailed into a single SMA connector. The fiber bundle is about 2 mm with a 3.15mm jacket.

| Getting to view a house dust mite? | 22 Dec 2004 00:18 GMT | 32 |
I'm just interested in microscopy as a bit of a past time and am fascinated by the house dust mite. Please, what is an easy way to secure and prepare to view these minute pests? So far I have been using sellotape but it's a bit ackward to say the least!

| refilling HeNe tubes | 20 Dec 2004 20:33 GMT | 1 |
I recently acquired a tank of HeNe gas as well as some tanks of Argon gas. Can anyone tell me how to fill these tubes and where I might find a list of the required pressure for various tubes? Thanks, and Happy Holiday Season to all

| DPSS temporal noise | 20 Dec 2004 17:35 GMT | 9 |
I have put my new Viasho laser on a photodiode and discovered that it is very noisy. No wonder that was not a specification. Despite that, the thing does perform modulation at acceptably fast speeds, with about a 10us turn-on delay and 8us turn-off delay.

| KTP question | 20 Dec 2004 17:33 GMT | 9 |
Would a KTP crystal like this be capable of generating several watts of green? I know these crystals are generally expensive but don't know if there would be a difference between a crystal capable of producing 100mW vs. one for 10W, or 30W. I'm pretty sure all crystals are NOT ...

| GS M-Series Galvo information | 20 Dec 2004 00:00 GMT | 1 |
Stepping motor feel in galvo will usually indicate worn ball bearings. Unless You're expecting top-quality response, it should work OK for simple applications. Typical feel for this galvo is free movement. No spring action. Same as optically-feedbacked Cambridges. Not sure about

| Synrad CO2 Laser Question | 19 Dec 2004 23:46 GMT | 3 |
I have a Synrad ~25W water cooled CO2 Laser, model D48-2-1155W. Although the D48 series is still supported on Synrad's website, my laser appears to be non-standard. The only interface it has is via a small headphone-like jack on the end.

| Overpressure on Spectra 171 | 19 Dec 2004 16:17 GMT | 2 |
I've an Spectra 171 argon with overpressure. I've accidentily used the gas fill buton and now fun is over :-(. Could I try the cryo method (I'm not sure that the glas reservoir will survive that procedure), or is a refill the only option. It's a nearly new Tube, so I really don't

| Is 300mW DPSS output okay from a 1W pump? | 17 Dec 2004 19:03 GMT | 2 |
I have a handheld, battery powered DPSS laser that runs on two "C" batteries. This is the GLP-III model made by Changchun New Industries. I've seen the guts of this laser, and I know that the pump is a 1W C-mount diode. This laser has a power output of 145mW from two C
