Help: how to couple light into photonic crystal fiber?16 Dec 2004 21:37 GMT14
I need to couple the light of a Tungsten or Xenon lamp into a
single-mode photonic crystal fiber.
I am now using a condensor followed by a lens with aperture of 50mm and
focus length of 200mm. But i can get less than 1uW output from the

I am looking for Xenon Lamp up to 100 watt.
Will anyone help me please ?
Nonsequential raytrace of two aspherical mirrors16 Dec 2004 15:26 GMT1
I'm interested in nonsequential rayrace and generating of two mirror
Cassegrein shape.
My raytrace should include:
1) Generate two aspherical mirrors from a polynomial function I have,
Coherent Compass 315M for holography16 Dec 2004 06:36 GMT5
Hey Guys,
I have plans to buy a Surplus Coherent Compas 315M for $1,300 this week
for use in my holography lab.
Does anyone have any experience using this laser for holography?

Compound focal lenses16 Dec 2004 02:44 GMT8
I'm using two cylindical lenses, one horizonatal f=250mm e the other
vertical f=50mm.
Is there any way to use only a single lens with different focal lenghth in
vertical and horizontal plane?

I have had trouble replying to posts. I thought I would try this to see
if it worked.
How can I see gamma rays ? ? ? ?  ? ?15 Dec 2004 23:46 GMT6
The world around me is full of radioactivity, but I can't see it.So
how can I build glasses to see the gamma rays?
Single PCAOM vs multiple aom's for RGB color control15 Dec 2004 22:46 GMT4
Got a question (well, really 2 questions) for the laserists here.  I'm
a hobyist, and I'm considering building a low power RGB projection
system to experiment with in my home.  (Hene + DPSS + 488nm Argon).
I've got a couple sets of galvos that should be OK up to around 12kpps
coherence radius15 Dec 2004 19:23 GMT6
please help to obtain information relating to last
know measurements of the coherence radius.
And also last known measurements that prove the
formula such as Rcoherence=lambda/teta.
using laptop power supply for my diode?15 Dec 2004 18:29 GMT1
i bought a 2v 2.2a 2200mw boston laser diode on ebay. i want to find a
cheap power supply for it. i have found several laptop power supplies
in the 12v 2.2a range. will these kill my laser diode? what do i need
to do to get them to work ? thanks. james.
Warning about seller15 Dec 2004 18:21 GMT2
Hi Group
I posted here some time ago about a seller who, to say the least, was
dragging his feet in a rather large deal, i was doing with him...
A couple of other posters here advised me to give him a last chance to come
RF lasing?15 Dec 2004 14:43 GMT12
Radio frequency lasing - is such a phenomenon possible?
There are masers (microwave lasers) already.
Is it necessary for the lasing 'cavity' to be some
multiple of the lasing frequency? If so, would devices
Controller for older Melles Griot 58-GSD-309 DPSS laser15 Dec 2004 14:03 GMT2
Does anyone have info on the really old controllers for the 58-GSD-309
(and other similar) high power DPSS lasers.  These were probably from
company Laser Power Corporation, apparently the original designer of
these lasers.  Here are photos:
