need help with my new laser project. . .13 Dec 2004 00:53 GMT2
I'm planning to make a fun project with my wicked extreme40-50mW.
i'm going to purchase a midrange-longrange sniper scope (the ones with
a crosshair), and carefully attach my laser pointer to it so they line
up. . . what i expect to happen is i can use the scope and "aim" at

Is there any super continuum commercially available?12 Dec 2004 20:54 GMT4
I hope to find some super continuum product which can be instantly used
or can be used with minor configuration. Is this commercially available
now?
Thank you!

Light show question12 Dec 2004 16:47 GMT2
This one has been nagging at me for a while.  Where does all of the power
required to put on a light show come from.  I know that it ultimately comes
from a dam somewhere, but really...  If you have a laserscope and a medium
power argon laser that would be around 20kw right?  A ...

I have seen quite a few spectra physics 16x series tubes on e-bay
recently, where the cathode bell is made of metal, and was wondering
whether or not it would be feasable to run one of these, pulsed or
quasi CW. I figure that by using the metal cathode bell as the cathode

Magnification preference12 Dec 2004 11:29 GMT5
I just bought a digital microscope and it only came with a 30x lens.
I'm thinking about getting another one, either 100x or 200x but I don't
have any experience using these so I'm asking for advice on which to
choose.  I'm planning to use it for recreational purposes only, just to

Just found this one on the web:
On a microscope:
Objects are smaller and less alarming than they appear.
This is almost as good as using a microscope as a nutcracker ;-)
Need help leaning11 Dec 2004 20:59 GMT8
My son is receiving my father's old (early 1970's) Nikon Ske phase
contrast microscope. I remember my father showing me slides he had
prepared using darkfield illumination, but how he did it I don't
remember. My son is currently 11 but is very advanced. His reading

Improving the confocal microscope images11 Dec 2004 06:47 GMT2
I need to improve the images obtained from the confocal microscope for
contrast, reduce noise and reduce the out of focus information in the
image.  I tried deconvolution; but I'm not yet satisfied with the
results.  I would like to have pitch black background with only the

Need tubing for YAG laser11 Dec 2004 03:10 GMT5

Anyone know where I can find some tubing like the stuff in this picture (for
enclosing the beam path)?  I have the same YAG laser but these tubes are
missing.  What is this tubing called?
