Q: Zeiss ACM07 Jan 2005 19:24 GMT3
I inherited this beast of a scope when I got here, it was covered in
dust and sitting forlornly in a corner.  In the process of disassembling
and cleaning it, I discovered what the random parts floating around the
lab went to.  Some relevant paperwork refers to a 'Zeiss ACM' ...

What is a legal laser?07 Jan 2005 15:14 GMT6
I spent some time at the CDRH site the other day trying to figure out
what the legal requirements are for legally obtaining, selling, and
manufacturing laser products, and also as it pertains to importing a
laser from an overseas vendor.
Shanghai Dream Lasers, Viasho and other cheap Chinese vendors?07 Jan 2005 08:30 GMT4
Any experience with them?  Shanghai Dream say their product is better
than Viasho, because Viasho "only lasts 6 months."
They've got lower prices on 150mW 532nm, $750 vs. $850 to $950 depending
on VB/VA type from Viasho.

There is a article from some time ago on internet talking about the
discoveries of a laser pistol able to deliver a consistant ion charge.
Detector for 3.39um HeNe radiation?05 Jan 2005 12:39 GMT2
We are thinking of doing an experiment with a 3.39um HeNe laser, to
measure some rapidly changing absorbance properties of a combustion event.
I need to find a detector for 3.39um that has a frequency response of at
least 100kHz, and sensitive enough to respond to power levels of ...
