Spectra-Physics ion laser mirror table20 Jan 2005 16:45 GMT1
I have about a dozen of SP optics from argon and mixed gas lasers that
require identification and I was wondering if anyone ever had a list
of Spectra-Physics optic identifiers that would cover argon and
related laser optics. It would be excellent to learn optic curvature,
Q for Chris Carlen20 Jan 2005 15:40 GMT1
I noticed in a recent post that you work at Sandia Labs. When I was in
high school, back in the mid-80s, I went to school with a kid whose Dad
was a researcher there. Do you recognize the name, Grotbeck? I'm not
certain of the spelling.
one of those days!20 Jan 2005 00:22 GMT4
I was recently taking photos of my home built Nitrogen Laser pumped dye
laser. The dye laser itself is incomplete as it does not yet have a
diffraction grating installed. And has instead a first surface mirror
placed directly on one the side of the cuvette This was because of the
"medium" grade polarizer (between Polaroid sheets and calcite)19 Jan 2005 00:58 GMT2
I am looking for "medium" grade polarizers, say between Polaroid sheets
and nice calcite Glan Thompson prisms and I won't be using high power
lasers.  Anything say around $100?  For the money one spends on a
Newport Polarcar or a polarizing beam splitter, one may as well buy a
A framework for Cytome exploration19 Jan 2005 00:53 GMT1
Besides my on-line version of my article on the Human Cytome Project and
the application of cytomics in medicine and drug discovery I now start an
article on a concept for large scale cytome exploration. It is at this
moment just the beginning
Terabeam system information18 Jan 2005 19:59 GMT2
I have a few of these Terabeam communication transceiver systems, Model
6210, that I need to get up and running.  It has all the bells and
whistles, ie. tip/tilt mirror, quad cell detector, IR detector, beam
expander, etc.  Looks like a big fan when put all together.  Can anyone
What's PZT18 Jan 2005 19:00 GMT11
Would anyone tell me the working principle of PZT, is it feasible to
use it to control birefringence of PM fiber?
thanks thanks
EOM18 Jan 2005 18:33 GMT1
Is EOM work inside sagnac loop?
Seem it is not work and i would like to know the principle.
Could anyone kindly show me?

Peltier question18 Jan 2005 07:51 GMT10
My understanding is the a peltier element has a hot side and a cold side as
current is run through it.  If the polarity of the applied source is
reversed do the hot and cold sides flip?
Can one Peltier element be used for heating AND cooling of a device?
about simulation18 Jan 2005 01:54 GMT2
Is there any software which can simulate some optical components?
such as the output signal of a edfa ring laser and etc
thanks

Neutral density filter for 1064nm17 Jan 2005 20:24 GMT11
I need a neutral density filter for 1064 nm that transmits 1.5% and is 25mm
in diameter.  Any idea where I should look for one of these?  Most seem to
be designed for 400-700 nm and become somewhat non-linear beyond that.
Thanks,
Making off ends in a partly-used fibre patch panel17 Jan 2005 20:18 GMT2
I have a question that I wonder if anyone can point me to
documentation (or another mailing list or newsgroup) to clarify,
that covers UK fibre installations good practise or regulations.
We have installed composite fibre (multi-mode and single-mode) on
Mixing water with light is this possible? TIA17 Jan 2005 20:12 GMT2
Greets to All,
I'm trying to find out if it's possible to mix or get water to turn in a spiral using light/laser?
TIA
