Soft Laser & Tinnitus20 Feb 2005 16:02 GMT9
If you're an optics person, and have ringing in the ears, this soft laser
treatment information may be of interest.  Particularly for a bio-medical
person who knows about adenosine triphosphate:

No Joke.
It's a completely legitimate offer, and this company has already given away
Optical Center?19 Feb 2005 23:17 GMT2
I'm reading a book on digital photography, and the author talks about the
optical center. For a simple single lens it's in the center of the lens. He
then talks about adding a double convex lens. Now the optical center shifts
somewhere outside the simple lens. What is he really ...
Spectra Physics T20 + V80 head19 Feb 2005 12:58 GMT3
Looks like I am going to get some Spectra Physics T20-8S40 power
supplies with V80-106Q heads.  There isn't much information available
for these on the Newport/Spectra web site, but I'm pretty sure they are
part of the HIPPO series.  Does anyone have any information about these
Hyrax19 Feb 2005 01:21 GMT3
I have an old bottle of high-index mounting medium called hyrax.  It
says "Paul M. Ruedrich Formula."  It has solidified.  Does anyone know if it
can be re-constituted, and if so, what it will take?
Also, does anyone know what the RI is for this material when cured?
Lightwave Electronics 221 DPSS inter or extra cavity pulsing?18 Feb 2005 20:03 GMT8
Hi All...
I purchased one of these Lightwave Optics 221 DPSS laser systems and
it appears to work fine. The only issue is that I need to pulse the
laser. Is there any method for producing short pulses 20-50ns extra
Low power from laser diode Hitachi  HL6501MG  (35mW)18 Feb 2005 16:16 GMT2
We are trying to get this laser diode Hitachi  HL6501MG  (30mW) to work
and deliver it's rated output power (35mW at 660nm.
I have an ampere meter in series with the laser diode. We measure up to
around 90mA  (operating current typical is 65mA and max is 95mA). We use
Qualitative Fresnel Circular Diffraction18 Feb 2005 01:47 GMT2
I would like to analyze what happens to the minima and maxima of a
circular aperature at the border between the near field and far field
approximations. As the source and screen are moved closer and closer to
the aperature, what happens to the minima and maxima? I really just
WTB: 488nm Uniphase tube / head17 Feb 2005 22:20 GMT1
Ht all,
Does anybody have a uniphase single line 488nm head / tube, rated for 20mW
for sale? I need this one as replacement for a dead one of tthose small
rectangular style heads.....
state of the art17 Feb 2005 21:24 GMT3
Did some searching and came up without results. For diodes that lase
between 500-600nm what are the current developments?
Thanks

Intel unveils laser breakthrough17 Feb 2005 15:03 GMT2
Intel unveils laser breakthrough
Intel has unveiled research that could mean data is soon being moved
around chips at the speed of light.
Scientists at Intel have overcome a fundamental problem that before now
Birefringence17 Feb 2005 14:38 GMT9
Dears,
I would like to control the birefringence of a high-birefringence
fibre.
Any apparatus or methods can be used to control the birefringence?
pin-hole inspection17 Feb 2005 14:37 GMT5
I wish to know availability of instruments that can be used to inspect
pin-holes in metal coated optics with attachment to vary
magnification.
About stop shift equation (G-SUM equation)17 Feb 2005 14:29 GMT6
I have read about the "stop shift equation (G-SUM equation)" from the
book "modern optical engineering" by Warren J. Smith. And try to use
it to design the lens. But I found the mathematics is very
complicated and what I can handle now is to design a doublet. I want
IR lens design software17 Feb 2005 14:23 GMT1
I need to find some software to do IR lens design, for example, an
imaging system for an IR camera - any ideas?
TIA
