Galvos for cutting/marking15 Feb 2005 19:05 GMT3
Apart from the difference in the mirrors used are the galvos used in
marking heads such as those made by Synrad of the same sort used for
laser shows.  For example do they use the same capacitive feedback
system in general?
How can overhead projectors have a flat field focal plane with only one lens?15 Feb 2005 15:18 GMT4
I know real lens systems only from CRT projectors where there are many
single lenses in an assembly and always at the CRT end of the lens
assembly there is a strong planoconcave element that serves as a field
flattener flattening the strongly curved focal plane.
Laser tube oscillations15 Feb 2005 13:16 GMT1
Would somebody be able to explain this to me better?
I know oscillations can estroy the tube but is this coased by the
light wavelengths oscillating incorrectly, or the powersupply haveing
or picking up oscillations in the dc supply. What is this usually
Does anyone have X29-1 software by New Method Lasers15 Feb 2005 06:24 GMT2
I have some but its version 4.0 (Alpha). Does anyone have anything newer
Digital Holography15 Feb 2005 05:37 GMT1
I' m writting (school assigment) a work about digital holography, not
microscopy, but using synthetic wavelenghts looking for application for
models ~ 1 meter size or even bigger, non-coperative.
The point is to propose an experimental setup capable to take multiple
3M Nextel Black Velvet paint?15 Feb 2005 01:05 GMT8
I've searched the net and don't find anything but references (no sources)
to 3M Nextel Black Velvet paint. 3M has a Nextel trademark line, but not
paint, rather fabric and other coverings. Is the paint  still available,
and under what name, and from what source?
Sound's like they're getting ready to fire back..15 Feb 2005 00:20 GMT12
Just saw this in this weeks Jane's.. I guess it would be one
way to discourage the errant laser pointer's, as they wander
blindly home across 6 lanes of traffic.. Might have to tweak
the infrared package to look for 532nm though..
queatio about TEM CCD14 Feb 2005 23:04 GMT2
Our department purchased a TEM with CCD camera recently. And I was
wondering will the diffraction beam burn the CCD? Hope some one with
experience could shred some light on me.
Thank you.
6800HPL laser Galvo wiring problems.14 Feb 2005 19:36 GMT4
This is horribly homebrew, so work with me ;)
So far I have soldered the 6800HPL to bare wires (+motor, -motor, AGC out,
diode common, Ia, Ib) and have a rj45 cable soldered to that, from there it
converts to the standard dsub9 serial port connection, and from there I am
OPD introduced by Dichroic Aperture14 Feb 2005 14:30 GMT14
Dear all,
I have a question about OPD introduced by a Dichroic Aperture:
We have a Dichroic Aperture in an image system. The stop aperture is a
BK7 glass plate, with short band pass filter coated on one side
Questions from greenhorn on binoculars...14 Feb 2005 14:22 GMT5
When I was young man (12-15) we hunted with our Dads or like me, looked at
the equipment they used. The most fascinating was the Binoculars. In
retrospect none of the elders had a "primo" set of Binoculars, but to a
child they seemed like magic!
Omnichrome 643 questions13 Feb 2005 21:30 GMT3
I got an Onmichrome 643 with the matching 160 power supply recently.
It's model 643-50RY-MRDN which seems to be unusual (no reference to this
model in the 643 manual I had or on the web).  It works fine and
produces red and (greenish) yellow as expected.  Does anyone know
laser printer salvage13 Feb 2005 19:59 GMT2
Forgive me if this topic has been beaten to death. I'm not too familiar with
this stuff yet.
I have seen a particular assembly around on the web that includes what
appears to be a nice sturdy mount with a diode module and collimator. I

Microscope adapter13 Feb 2005 00:36 GMT1
Hello outthere,
I like to know how you connect a Nikon D70 camera to the trinoculartube of a
microscope.
Then without the cameralens the Nikon cann't messure the exposure time.
