I have a blue dpss and a green dpss I would like to combine befor putting it through my scanner. At the moment i am using a 50/50 beamsplitter cube but obviously i have a second beam that is using half my power.

I just saw the video of David Copperfield where a laser beam cuts him in half. I dont know which tour he did this act on as I havent seen him live for about 10 years. Any comments on this effect?

If an oil immersion lens has an iris that allows the N.A. to be reduced below 1.0 - can it be used without oil? Similarly - if an immersion lens without an iris is rated with an N.A. of (say) 0.9 or less - then can it too be used dry?
