Help learning laser show basics14 Mar 2005 10:41 GMT5
The club where I work is considering getting a laser system. It's
a large club, which will handle about 3000 people. Right now
I'm trying to learn the basics of it all. Can anyone suggest some
good  places to start, and/or other good discussion groups?

Scotopic & Photopic Sensitivity13 Mar 2005 22:49 GMT5
This question is about Scotopic and Photopic sensitivity and lasers. As
I understand it from the reference below, under daylight conditions
visual sensitivity is photopic at 555nm and under near darkness
scotopic at around 510-515nm[guesstimate].
two frequncy laser, rotation13 Mar 2005 17:42 GMT28
I have a question about a length measurement system with a
two-frequency laser (HP 5501). The two frequencies have
orthogonal polarization.
It's written in the manual that it's not allowed to turn the

Any way to convert a standard camcorder into a "thermal imager"?13 Mar 2005 04:35 GMT8
I have an old book that claims this can be done on a cheap kids'
camcoder by taking out an internal filter.
If so, can some kind of filter be added to a not-kids-toy camcorder to
do the same, make thermal images visible?
Ct6210 problems12 Mar 2005 23:43 GMT1
I just get a pair of ct scanners, with ct amps, and I try her, but, at the
first start, only the Y one works. I shutdown the power supply, check
connections, but all seems ok, so I switch on the PS, and... Nothing
works... Since, I chech signals, and PS, but I don't find any ...
Microscope Adapter for a Camera12 Mar 2005 07:15 GMT6
(Probably the most important question I ask below is about removing the eyepiece
holder tube from the turret.)
I have a microscope, a Leica BF 200, that has a singular occular mounted on a
tube about 6" long that protrudes from a turret. See
S/N ratio for infrared detector12 Mar 2005 05:43 GMT1
I have a specific question.
I use a MCT detector (Mercury-Cadmium-Telluride, which is a
photoconductive semiconductor) to detect infrared radiation in the
wavelength range 8-10 microns.
Connecting EOS 10D to Zeiss ICM 40512 Mar 2005 01:20 GMT13
Sorry - another "how do I connect" posting...
In a nutshell, I want to connect a Canon EOS 10D to the front
photo-port of a Zeiss ICM 405 (same main body as the IM series). I use
direct projection onto the sensor, so I need the connection to furnish

Making a focus screen from UV filters and Microwax?11 Mar 2005 19:39 GMT2
I've been experimenting with applying a very thin layer -- about the
thickness of a single piece of Scotch brand tape -- of
microcrystalline wax between two pieces of glass. I'm so far having
no luck.
