Phase Sensitive Power Supply?11 Mar 2005 06:08 GMT11
How many people run medium-frame lasers off a rotary converter?
I heard certain power supplys are phase sensitive and cannot be run
off a converter.
Any other single phase solution?
Seeking for the best method to trace a pill inside the human's body11 Mar 2005 02:30 GMT9
However there are well-developed methods to trace a tiny pill inside the
human's body( in digestion system or blood), but most of them have some
disadvantages. Some are dangerous(X-ray), some are expensive( MRI), and some
have long processing time( ultrasound). I guess there are ...
high RI lens cement10 Mar 2005 18:41 GMT6
can someone recommend a glue for bonding lenses with relatively high
refractive indizes, 1.68 and 1.75? Does such a glue exist at all, at a quick
search in i-net i saw only glues with RI 1.55+-epsilon ?
With the standard Norland 61 glue the lens manufacturer used now, I get a
English Law - Laser Pointers10 Mar 2005 17:18 GMT5
Anyone know what English law actually says about green laser pointers?
Looking around some of the sites selling these, some say <1mW is okay,
some say <5mW is okay. Nobody seems to say whether that's "okay to own",
"okay to operate in private", "okay to operate in lecture ...

If an external laser's flickering "does" happen to distract the crew,
it's just one more thing to try to keep up with in there:

635 nm diode laser modules - cost/advice10 Mar 2005 02:41 GMT8
I recently got a 635nm laser pointer. Wow, I really like 635 nm - it's
a nice red - close to the classic He-Ne. Anyway, I decided I'd like
to get a somewhat brighter 635 nm laser rock - the complete diode
laser module, hopefufully with a glass lens and adjustable focus.

Hello at all,
I'm lookig for a material or glass to create an uniform light with some
halogen lamps. That is to get an light to get NIR pictures. I did it with an

RMS - M25 adapter08 Mar 2005 17:28 GMT1
Is anyone aware of a manufacturer for adapter rings so one can mount an RMS
thread objective (Olympus) on an M25 thread microscope (Leica)?

SEM FAQ and/or links08 Mar 2005 13:57 GMT3
I saw a thread on another group about scanning electron microscopes.
It raised "how is it implemented type questions?"
A Google wasn't productive as I got back results results which were
aimed at "theory of operation" rather than "practice of operation" so to
Tube length08 Mar 2005 05:36 GMT7
I noticed that while a tube length of 170 mm. used
to be normal, nowadays 160 mm. seems to be more
common.
I have quite a few 170 mm. objectives and would

I finally got my 1064 to 532 L-fold doubler assembled and it works!  The
cavity without the crystal inserted produces exactly what it did with a
linear setup.  ...
