Anyone know what this is? (KTP related)21 Apr 2005 15:37 GMT6
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=26237&item=7507443987&rd=1
I'm curious what this is used for and if it could be used to double a YAG
laser to 532nm.  Anyone out there know?
Thanks,
Broad and sharp transitions in lasers.21 Apr 2005 15:04 GMT2
I'm just starting to really learn about lasers so forgive me if I sound
stupid!
What determines how broad or sharp a laser transition will be?  I know
it has to do with how close in energy some of the electronic states are

beam angles from infinity corrected microscope objectives21 Apr 2005 13:50 GMT11
Does someone know the answer to this: what is the relationship between
the angle of the collimated beam going in/out of the back aperture of
an infinity corrected microscope objective and the field angle at the
sample?
Single mode fibre taper with hemishperical end face21 Apr 2005 11:32 GMT2
Does anyone know where I can buy a tapered fibre with a hemispherical end
face. I am trying to couple the highly divergent light from a semiconductor
laser facet into a fibre with as little feedback as possible and this has
been suggested to me as the best compromise. Any other ...

Does anybody have a rule of thumb or a source for fused silca CW damage
threshold ?
Many thanks
Fiber for high powered pulse applications21 Apr 2005 04:11 GMT2
I am looking for a source for either large core multimode fibers or
large core fiber bundles capable of handling 100mJ pulsed energy (5ns
pulse width) @30Hz in the near infrared @1600nm.
The best fiber I can find so far is a multimode fiber with a damage
Gold Finish on Spacesuit Visors?21 Apr 2005 02:01 GMT5
I'm having a disagreement about the likely purpose of the gold film that you
can see in photographs from the Apollo Moon missions.
I suspect the visor is multicoated with the gold reducing visible and
infrared and other layers or the plastic absorbing ultraviolet.
How to clean small laser diode windows - follow up21 Apr 2005 01:45 GMT4
After solving the window cleaning problems that we discussed a week or two
ago, I thought I'd post the results of our tests.
The problem (to recap) was a significant power drop off over the 1st week of
life of a small 400nm laser diode. This was put down to contamination from
Pumping ND:YVO420 Apr 2005 21:10 GMT3
Anyway to estimate what the output power @1064nm will
be when side-pumping a ND:YVO4 rod with smething like
15W of 808nm??
Is there a need to cool the rod, for example to the same
circularized laser diode for laser tweezer : Power Technology, Crystalaser?20 Apr 2005 17:51 GMT2
I am currently using a Melles-Griot laser diode (830 nm, 100 mW) module
for my laser tweezer.  I like the module because it includes an
anamorphic prism pair (I think) such that the beam is circularized.  (I
am not a big fan of M-G in genereal but like their electro-optics
wide-field beam expander?20 Apr 2005 17:08 GMT11
Dear Sci.Optics,
I am trying to design a laser scanning system for microscopy.
I have a narrow (~1 mm) collimated laser beam, that is scanning over
about +/- 1-3 degrees from a stationary pivot in a pupil plane (the

Moire fringe calculation20 Apr 2005 11:00 GMT1
Please provide with idea how to realize it in math programs.
If I have a rectangular periodical structure and image formed from DMD on it.
Simply don't understand the idea, what is the condition of moire appearance.
a 595nm class 4 in this projector?20 Apr 2005 03:33 GMT11
A thing that puzzels me...
http://www.yagang.com/english/specification/laser/yx2005.pdf
In this manual it is stated there are 3 lasers modules.
