| What is a diffraction order? | 31 May 2005 23:30 GMT | 3 |
But I came across the term "diffraction order" in literature, and I don't know what it means. Does it refer to the areas of diffraction maxima (as in the sin(x)/x Fraunhoffer pattern)? As in the large central maxima would be zeroth order,

| Holography setup? | 31 May 2005 22:27 GMT | 1 |
After years of not having lab-space, it looks like I might have space again soon. I'm guessing that most of my holography equipment is hopelessly outdated (early 90's) and I want to start from scratch. So, if one were to start up a lab and had a couple of thousand dollars to

| Does this exist? <= .01% @ 365nm, > 90% @ 400nm | 31 May 2005 19:12 GMT | 4 |
I am looking for an optical filter for a flourescence experiment. The excitation wavelength is 365nm, and the emission wavelengths are between 400 and 500nm. I would like to find a filter for the receving optics which blocks 365nm (less than .01% transmission) and passes

| About laser cavity length | 31 May 2005 00:06 GMT | 3 |
I'd like to ask your opinion about something I've seen using a program simulating a standing wave resonator. Aparently when length goes down under a certain limit, suddenly the beam diameter in the cavity drops down
