are these criteria achievable in a portable laser?31 May 2006 21:14 GMT11
wonder if anyone would be so kind as to just let me know if the following is
achievable in a handheld/portable format;
format of laser needs to be portable/battery powered - as compact as
possible.

Lambdapro UGA 200 mW 532 nm DPSS output restored.31 May 2006 16:57 GMT12
But not without some mysteries remaining...
Having also restored a Scientech power detector and built a gain stage to
match it to a Fluke DMM's 300 mV range to read 1 mW / mv, I've started
tweaking the suspect Lambdapro UGA 200 mW laser.
Why Isn't Sapphire Important Optically?31 May 2006 12:47 GMT14
I remember reading a posting asking about the optical properties of the
transparent armor material Aluminum Oxynitride.
Some optical design programs include it in their glass tables. Turns out
to have a very high index of refraction, and to sit at about the same
Becker & Hickl versus Picoquant31 May 2006 10:02 GMT6
I'm starting to do some homework on designing a flexible TCSPC
instrument that will start out as a single beam system to measure
fluorescence lifetime, FRET, and FCS if possible. Eventually I would
like to add scanning via a stage or galvos and so will need to capture

focusing lens for a red 250mw 650nm fat beam laser?30 May 2006 21:34 GMT3
I have laying around a 250mw red laser but its beam is quite large and
needs to be focused down
is there any way to do this an aftermarket focusing lens or something?
PSD position accuracy?30 May 2006 21:00 GMT2
I want to be able to accurately determine a laser dots position with a
PSD. But I don't get the same position reading when the dots
reflection is bad (on black paper).
I get better accuracy when I increase the laser power, but in the final

50's Leitz lab microscope restoration30 May 2006 19:59 GMT4
I have recently aquired a 1953-ish Leitz lab microscope that needs a
serious clean up. I envisioned removing the obvious screws from the
knobs that would then slide off so I could clean them in solvent or the
ultrasonic cleaner I wish I had right about now. Having bought a new
Fundamentals of laser30 May 2006 12:21 GMT2
Dear laser experts,
I am trying to find out  some simple definitions of laser terms. First
in the series is laser beam waist. There are many mathematical
definitions on the net. Everyone says, the position where beam size is
Zeiss wl/universal focuser assembly30 May 2006 12:03 GMT1
I need to disassemble a zeiss wl focuser.  I've successfully worked on
zeiss kf and gfl focusers in the past.  does anyone have a schematic or
repair manual for this focuser?

Sensor selection30 May 2006 04:17 GMT1
I want to ask expert advise on how to select sensor to detect a
modulated weak laser beam in the following scenario;
Assume we have a laser diode of power XX mW with beam divergence YY
degree(s) and wavelength ZZZ nm (red, green or IR) and in a clear,
How to make two laser beams coaxial ?29 May 2006 09:29 GMT3
I have a couple of IR, red and green laser diodes. Experiments with red and
green lasers are relaively easy as they are visible.
Can you recommend any simple, practical, method (I am hobbiest with limited
budget) to make both IR and red laser beams coaxials ei.alight both the IR
Preview Design before marking. ProlaseXP / YAG29 May 2006 08:00 GMT1
I recently got a new YAG laser with PROLASEXP software and MARKER
MONITOR. I have a hard time to find out how to setup/center a new
application. MARKER MONITOR gives me a laser point to center with...but
not that help since most of my applications are round...
