Help with adjustment of a New Focus Electro-optic Modulator30 Jun 2006 17:09 GMT3
I bought a resonant electro optic modulator (Model EOM 4851, New Focus)
and have tried to adjust the laser beam and modulator to observe the
sidebands at 9.2 GHz, but unfortunately have not been able to see any
phase modulation with my Burleigh Fabry-Perot.
Quick fix to the sagging cathode problem.30 Jun 2006 16:54 GMT5
Yesterday I got the crazy idea that it might be possible to fix the
sagging cathode problem by applying very high current to the cathode and
let it heat up just enough so the material would soften up, and
hopefully it would bend a bit. (of cause with the tube mounted in 180
Pat I need some advice about Yag's30 Jun 2006 08:08 GMT12
Hi Pat or anyone else...
I have a 30w 532 yag that im setting up for laser display. I would like
to have Blanking of the laser beam before the 6240 scanners. What item
do you reccomend to do this? will it easily interface with a ld2000
My best Radium Immitation29 Jun 2006 17:58 GMT5
Could anyone explain the different levels of excitement one might
acheive by riding a tricycle verses a Cessna Citation corporate jet?
And if so, are these levels acceptable for "my" or for that fact "your"
knowledge of the subject especially relating specifically in your area
Multi-line Argon measurments using a LaserCheck wand29 Jun 2006 16:45 GMT15
I've got a Coherent LaserCheck wand, and I'm wondering if I can use
it to accurately measure the power output of a multi-line Argon in a
*single* measurement?
I know that if I send the beam through a prism to separate the
Minimum power req'd for SP168 Mid-frame argon29 Jun 2006 14:16 GMT19
About 4 months ago I got a good deal on a Spectra-Physics SP168
(similar to the 165) mid-frame argon laser.  I bought it knowing full
well that I'd have to play some tricks in order to power it at home -
The laser manual specifies a power consumption of 35A/phase at 208V
How to test the Beam Pointing Stability28 Jun 2006 22:54 GMT9
http://www.point-source.com/BeamPointingStability.asp
In the above webpage, they say that the Beam Pointing Stability can be 1
µrad per degree C. I want to the test method. Who can you help me?
Thanks!

plane parallel window, spherical aberration28 Jun 2006 20:22 GMT1
again a simple question:
Let's assume we have a perfect spherical wavefront coming from an ideal
point source.
After passing through a perfect plane parallel window, there is spherical
Laser wavelength related to power?28 Jun 2006 08:03 GMT9
I was wondering why you really never see any truly high-powered visible
light lasers.....is there some reason as to why it's quite common for
IR lasers to acheive powers well into the kilowatts but not visible
light ones?
Advantages of photonics -- other than bandwidth -- over electronics28 Jun 2006 06:06 GMT35
One advantage of photonics over electronics is more bandwidth but that
is only one of several advantages. Others are greater clarity, less
overheating, more resistance to EMI/ RFI, greater S/N ratio.
So its not just bandwidth.
Laser Campout 200627 Jun 2006 21:44 GMT1
Our yearly laser campout is coming up July 14 to 16.
Starting at about noon Friday .Addmition is to come out Thursday evening
and help set up, bring some food to share, or $5.00 a car donation. Or
all 3 if the mood moves you.
Green DPSS mode hopping and power fluctuations27 Jun 2006 19:52 GMT13
Hi, I have been experimenting cheaply with some laser modules from
green pointers.  What would cause power output fluctuations like this?
(Please look at the first and 11th post with the power output graph)

I'm looking for the CHINA STANDARD CATALOG as well as any other
FiberOptics Network Managment Software27 Jun 2006 14:44 GMT1
We're building a reginal fibre-optics network over silesian region in
Poland. Structure develops very fast and now we are looking for software to
administer cables and fibers. Designers autocad or visio to note crossess
and splices, but this is pretty lame - unfunctional and ...
