How to make a Bat Signal?31 Oct 2006 10:16 GMT3
I know, it's a question that inspires jokes.
Recently I was browsing the web and I noticed that
there have been a few of toy bat signals produced
that shine a signal onto a wall. They seem rare
Correction measured spatial resolution for atmospheric attenuation30 Oct 2006 22:13 GMT1
If I test an electro-optic system and measure it's spatial resolution
(using a USAF type target), how can I correct this for the distance
between the camera and the target?
For example, if I test the same system 2km away from the target or 4 km
Is there any good laser technicians?30 Oct 2006 16:55 GMT5
Hi, I am having a very difficult time dealing with Coherent's
technicians, not with personalities but every one of my staff feels
that they just try to a fix our laser by trial and error rather than
true technical diagnosis.  Can anyone recommend a company that can fix

Help identifying optical material?28 Oct 2006 06:17 GMT10
I acquired a large prism  made of some exotic high-index material I can not
identify. Perhaps someone can help.
Material properties (as best I can measure):

Output spectrum of Ti:saph laser27 Oct 2006 12:18 GMT2
Can you tell me if I have the physics right?
The Ti ion produces the lasing and is a four-level laser.  The upper
lasing level is smeared across a certian energy interval by the very
least the Heisenburg uncertainty... (other effects I have heard of are

Recent History / Timeline of Microscopes (assignment)26 Oct 2006 14:01 GMT5
I am a in junior high and have an assignment to discuss how microscopes
have changed from the year 2000 to 2006.  I have found older info, and
see lots of digital and specialty microscopes, but nothing explains
since 2000, this is what has been invented and what it is capable of
infra-red and mirrors26 Oct 2006 01:43 GMT8
I am designing an aircraft for a university project. The specification
states the aircraft needs camera capable of recording IR video, PAL

I am considering using a kind of periscope in stead of those big
Accu-scope questions25 Oct 2006 18:11 GMT8

vole bones preparation24 Oct 2006 22:54 GMT1
