Information about upgrading order process / Changing items to be lasered. Plz help.28 Feb 2007 21:46 GMT4
I currently have a YAG laser that I use to mark one specific item. I
do it one by one but would need to upgrade to a faster either manual
or automatic system. I think I will be ok if I could just find a
manual way to make the items a bit faster. So I could load/feed a jig
More Laserscope questions28 Feb 2007 21:05 GMT4
Did some more with the Laserscope model 501 here.  All the 1/4" cooling
lines were brittle and split open when I first powered it up.  I cleaned
up that mess and replaced all the tubing.  Now there are no leaks, but
the system gives an L012 error which means that there is no flow ...
Laser pointer beam expansion / shaping?28 Feb 2007 09:38 GMT1
I am a hobbiest with very limited experience in optics and would like
to ask expert advise for the following experiment;
Assume that
(-) We have a laser pointer at point A and it is pointed to a flat
Dimensions of Zeiss Phase 1 plate?27 Feb 2007 18:41 GMT1
Does anyone have the dimensions of a Zeiss Ph1 phase plate, please?
Outer diameter + inner diameter would be much appreciated.
Incidentally, there is a scaleable template buried in the artwork in
MSWord, which can be printed on to an acetate - or at least, that is
Perceived intensity between stripes and mean value27 Feb 2007 18:32 GMT8
I'm developing a LCD calibration tool, based on the same basic
principle as Adobe Gamma, which is to compare with the eye the
intensity of a grey square with respect to the black and white striped
background. With a few variations, it is done channel by channel, and
LC connector27 Feb 2007 15:55 GMT2
Hey guys,
I would like to know whether or not the LC connector is fragile or less
reliable than its SC and ST counterparts. I've heard from a few
technicians that it breaks relatively quickly, is this true? Could you
TOSA mounting.27 Feb 2007 15:41 GMT1
I have a project that will be transmitting 10,000 analog signals of
bandwidth 1.5 GHz a distance of 3 km.
I had thought about using individual laser diodes in TOSA packages to
do this.
Info on Lexel 95 laser26 Feb 2007 23:03 GMT1
I am just curious, is it possible to power a lexel 95 from 240V at lower
current, with only a single phase supply?
The laser will be used for experimentation, and its full power is not
needed, but the little air cooled argon and DPSS lasers I have done have
Relationship between Rq and BRDF/BTDF26 Feb 2007 21:08 GMT1
I know this is a huge subject, but is there a good tutorial (in the
journals or on the web) which gives an indication of the amount of
scatter one could expect from a machined reflecting/refracting surface
of a given surface finish? It assumes, of course, that you know the
Help with simple lens design26 Feb 2007 11:36 GMT7
I need some help designing a simple lens.
The lens will be injection molded in Acrylic, and will be used in Toy.
Picture below details Diameter and thickness. I need to know what the radii
of of the lens faces should be to achieve a magnification of 2.5?
Violet Laserdiodes (405nm)25 Feb 2007 19:13 GMT2
First, sorry for my very bad english!
My Question is about the 405nm/415nm laserdiodes.
For the Industry it´s a new generation, so I have buy one blue ray DVD
burner for test it.
Unitron TMS-2308 Tool Makers microscope.25 Feb 2007 00:13 GMT1
I just bought a used Unitron TMS-2309 Tool Makers microscope on
eBay.  It seems to have a problem.  The microscope has a photo tube
and the regular angled eyepiece tube.  I can get light into the photo
tube section but I can't seem to get any light into the visual

I wrote this question before. Sorry about writing again.

SSY1 Mirror Alignment23 Feb 2007 19:09 GMT16
I would have expected the mirrors to be parallel, as determined by the
machining of the frame.
But on checking several SSY1s, this would appear not to be the case.
I know the mirrors have wedge and this is very evident, but appears
