I have the following problem with one of my Melles Griot GS58 series
Laser. This is an old unit where I was able to pick up a Laser diode
and replaced the defective one.
Now I can not get over 7.83A and a Laser Voltage of 1.92V. The Laser

Hi, picked up a ILT 5500ABL-00-ACL off of craigslist today. Paid $40
for it No power supply. The little mercury meter reads about 3500
hours. The guy I got it from got it in a lot of dental equip. So
hopefully is has spent most of its life sitting at idle current.

afford a complete stereo stand ;>(

Just a simple/complex question.. what is the best way to make the
terribly divergent beam from a laser diode into a usable one? I've
heard everything from anamorphic prizms to grin lenses to cylindrical
