It will never really be done, but it has never been any doner!
Sapphire Glass Catalouge for Code V.30 Apr 2008 02:24 GMT4
Does anyone have an real Sapphire glass catalouge that I could use for
Code V? I'm have issues evaluating Sapphire at -55 degree C (it
refused to do so unless I give it dN/dT values which I can't find
anywhere).
[Q] spectral modulation analysis of captured optical spectrum using     optical spectrum analyzer30 Apr 2008 00:12 GMT5
I am trying to analyze optical spectrum which is captured by optical
spectrum analyzer (typical telecom analyzer form Yogokawa, Agilent,
etc).
Optical spectral shape that I took using the analyzer has some
balanced photodiode  and..26 Apr 2008 12:10 GMT1
To detect squeezed vacuum, I need to do homodyne detection.
For that, I have two   choices.
One is using Balanced photodiode, and the other is using two PD and
splitter/combiner.
[q]shot noise limit determination26 Apr 2008 12:02 GMT1
I'm trying to do quantum squeezing experiment with IR diode laser
light.
Since it's my first time to do squeezing experiment,I need to know
where the shot
c02 600w Beam alignment25 Apr 2008 19:43 GMT2
i have a 600w co2 laser ,  sheet metal cutting xy table that i am setting up
, whats the best way for aligning the beam path through the 45 deg mirrors
on the y axis and on down to the z axis  , and ultimately through the lens !
i have it somewhere near at the moment , but it ...
good cheap aspheric lenses?25 Apr 2008 18:41 GMT2
I sometimes have a use for aspheric lenses, numerical aperture 0.5 or
higher, with focal lengths of about 10-30 mm - to collimate or focus
arc lamp beams, LED beams, etc.  Edmund precision aspheres are good
but they cost about $200 each.  Geltech (Light Path Technologies)
Making an interferometer25 Apr 2008 15:31 GMT15
I'm getting components together to see whether I can make a Michelson
interferometer.
I have a HeNe laser about 15 inches long, which has stable
polarization but I think is probably not frequency stable (Is there a
Lens shading/vignetting question25 Apr 2008 00:39 GMT4
We put a lens on a big CCD chip and noticed a huge (2-to-1) drop off
in intensity near the edges, like dark vertical bands near the right
and left edges - not so much on the top and bottom edges.  Now if I
remember my terminilogy correctly "vignetting" happens when the
need help with ray tracing24 Apr 2008 16:55 GMT5
I'm a computer science student and I am doing a project where I need
to calculate the radar cross section of an 3D object.  I have to use
the ray tracing approach. So far I'm able to read the object from the
geometrical specifications given and store it in appropriate data
PSF function.. and convolution help needed24 Apr 2008 14:30 GMT17
I am having a hard time understanding the meaning, of the PSF and the
convolution term in optic  .
I would be very glad if anyone can help.
- what is the meaning of PSF in optical system
Optics in New york24 Apr 2008 07:31 GMT3
I will come in New York in June, have you some hints of academic or
researc institutes regarding optics to make a tour ? I am an Italian
researcher involved in optics and optical testing
thank you
looking for nanosecond pulse LED24 Apr 2008 04:57 GMT5
I am looking for a LED than can be driven buy pulse with width of
10ns~100ns order.
Such a LED is required for measurement of velocity of small particles
( size of some 10 microns order ) as light source. Commonly used light
