Oscilating power, why?31 May 2008 16:02 GMT5
I'd like to know how power fluctuation can occur when the laser
is in constant current mode.
I've measured the diode current and it is really constant, even
the IR power with a power meter is not fluctuating much.
laser - daylight visible?31 May 2008 03:17 GMT1
Need to locate a couple of inexpensive, simple lasers that can be viewed
during daylight.
Are there visible lasers that can be viewed with special glasses during
daylight hours?
Nikon Diaphot 35mm camera mount = Nikon F?30 May 2008 18:57 GMT2
The Nikon Diaphot inverted tissue microscope:

Is the 35mm camera port on the lower part of this a standard Nikon F lens
mount?  Which would make it compatible directly with current Nikon digital
Application of 1.3um28 May 2008 16:01 GMT4
There are other applications of 1.3um than trasmission in optic fiber?
any resource,info?
thanks
Ebay auction of the week: BLUE VIOLET LASER DIODES?!28 May 2008 01:15 GMT4
NEW PRINCETON LIGHTWAVE LASER DIODE VIOLET BLUE 4-PIN
Turns out they are actually IR transceiver diodes, not blue at all!
Buyer beware!

ampliftude and phase fluctuations of output pulse from pulsed laser27 May 2008 20:57 GMT7
I am trying to find some information about measurement method to
characterize amplitude and time jitters of optical pulse from pulsed
laser.

How to make a low-precision ellipsoid?25 May 2008 14:51 GMT4
Sorry for the maybe humble question (and the English) ...
Do you know any method for constructing an ellipsoid of a rotational
ellipse with an eccentricity of (hope I pointed out well) 0.166?
Many thanks.
Rubber foil for focus ring of objective23 May 2008 22:39 GMT8
I'm looking for self-adhesive rubber foil which can be glued on the focus
ring of an objective. I mean this foil which has small 4-sided pyramids on
its surface, about 1.5 - 2.0mm wide.
Does anyone know a supplier?
Semi-telecentric wide angle objective lens23 May 2008 21:22 GMT5
Where can I get an objective, off the shelf, with focal length ~10 mm,
at least f/1.5, but better f/1.1, covering a field of view of 17
degrees (total) and approximately telecentric at the image (diameter
3.1 mm)? Wavelength is 0.9 microns, environment is outdoors.
optical spectrum analyzer in zero span mode23 May 2008 20:59 GMT3
Dear group members,
I would like to have few hints on how an OSA behaves when set in zero
span mode. I try to display the received power from a laser diode
directly modulated at 100Hz with a square wave (i.e. the laser is
KODAK GEMS - Request for technical information, optical design, etc23 May 2008 19:29 GMT1
We've been asked about doing something with this technology but there does
not seem to be much information.  Does anyone have any detailed technical
information?

Acute angle projection (variable/stretched focal point?)21 May 2008 21:38 GMT14
I'm a product design engineer and I'm here today because I'm stumped
by an optics problem, and I hope that someone with more experience can
help me out.
I'm currently trying to educate myself on what practical options are
Simple Low drop out laser diode driver.21 May 2008 17:48 GMT9
I'm converting one of those LED illuminating bases used to illuminate laser
engraved crystal ornaments and so on.  I want to replace the LEDs with a few
milliwatt 635nM laser diode(s) without collimating optics and running from
the 3 AA batteries it takes. I'd planned to use a ...
