| Beamsplitter for 20 watt 808nm diode laser | 30 Aug 2008 19:24 GMT | 7 |
I'm about to purchase a reasonably high powered diode laser (up to 40 watts, but I dont need to decimate anything above 15-20 watts) and I need to attenuate the beam. I'm looking to decimate at least 4 dB, 10 is probably the upper boundary. Does anyone have any suggestions for

| ID a Casix Crystal | 30 Aug 2008 12:53 GMT | 3 |
I got a couple new Casix crystals from a friend. They are about 3mm sq x 5mm long. AR Coated both ends. There are some numbers on them but are pretty cryptic. They both share the same number of 85722 so I think they are the same. One of them though has a sticker on t from

| Why a second smaller peak in spectrum of modelocked laser? | 29 Aug 2008 03:49 GMT | 5 |
I don't understand the physics behind this second peak. Its peak can be upto a quarter of the modelocked pulse (in the frequency domain). Is it possible to model this behaviour? Incidenlt its a Ti: Saph laser...

| How do I draw fiber-optic lines in a schematic? | 28 Aug 2008 05:10 GMT | 34 |
Got a design coming up where there will be lots of fiber-optic parts within the electronics. Has to be that way because it's fast stuff and the only way for others to understand is if I draw the FO lines and the respective parts into the schematic. No problem to generate nice ...

| Anyone catch The Who tribute concert on VH1? Nice lasers.. | 27 Aug 2008 04:13 GMT | 15 |
I know, The Who and VH1, not exactly the best pairing up. Good show though, Foo Fighters and others doing Who covers, and then three or so song's from The Who themselves. Lasers looked great! Not overdone, in fact, done in the style of the Who's

| Incomplete Nd:YAG? Should I try to buy it? | 26 Aug 2008 01:07 GMT | 3 |
I may have the possibility to buy this Nd:YAG cheap, it is without chiller and powersupply but has a new lamp. It says "180W CW/35mJ on the label" and is said to be from Spectron Laser Systems (now owned by GSI Lumonics).

| laser diode burning power questions | 24 Aug 2008 00:51 GMT | 1 |
i have a few question to ask about laser diode use for burning purpose 1) what is the relation between the wavelength (nm) , laser beam output (mW) and burning power (Js) :ex( does 808nm@200mW = 650nm@250mW)

| Cylindrical harmonic analysis of Fresnel reflection? | 23 Aug 2008 06:37 GMT | 2 |
Suppose that instead analysing Fresnel reflection from a dielectric interface using an infinite plane wave approach, instead you consider a point source radiating a spherical wave toward the interface from some distance away.

| help getting a manual | 22 Aug 2008 15:25 GMT | 5 |
I have tried e-mailing Brian Bohan at Cambridge Laser Laboratories to get a manual for my Lexel 350 dye laser, but seem to be getting ignored. He is the only source for the manual I have found. Is there anyone who's buds with him that could help me get a copy? Thanks.
