| Measuring Our Absolute Velocity | 28 Feb 2005 20:02 GMT | 1 |
Measuring Our Absolute Velocity In the 19th century, science had concluded that reality was based upon the Aether, a rigid medium that pervaded all of space. The Aether was required to account for the ability of forces (electric, magnetic,

Can any SRian please give reasons why all starlight should not spend its lifetime traveling through space at c relative to its original source? It has no contact with any other body...so why should that speed change? HW.

| Einstein's Electrodynamics | 28 Feb 2005 08:09 GMT | 26 |
"Empirical physical reality casts the only votes that count." -- Alan Schwartz, resident psychopath with ONE correct statement to make. It is known that Einstein's electrodynamics--as usually understood at the present time--when applied to moving bodies, leads to asymmetries

| Help with SR time dilation | 27 Feb 2005 23:10 GMT | 1 |
Given an inertial reference frame which I'll call the rest frame. Given a pair of wires with a light at one end, and a battery at the other end. The light, battery and wires all have zero relative velocity. Let's say the length of the pair of wires is such that

I was posting on another list when one of the readers suggested I use my reply as a general introduction to the Aether Physics Model on these newsgroups. So here is how the Aether Physics Model came to be. I was working on a flat spiral coil and placing a fluorescent tube between ...

Why can the equation for geodesic equation be used to find the period of the pendulum in spite of the fact that the particles do not move along geodesics? Also why the equation can be used even though the centre of the pendulum does not follow a geodesic?
