I was looking for a (new ?) way to the reduction of 2-nitropropenes type compounds. Because the reduction with LAH or NaBH4 & Pd-C or even electrolytic reduction is a bit of pain in your a.s if you have to reduce large amounts. How does the Industrial Chemical Manufactor

Dear Sir/madam, I am doing a project to recover Acetonitrile (or Acetonitrile & water azeotrope) from a mixture of 900 Lt. of Sulfuric Acid (We use 98% one), 900 Lt. of Water and 600 Lt. of Acetonitrile.

I was wondering how to prepare (in a lab) isopropyl phenylacetate... preferably with the acid chlroide (and also how to make that acid chloride). Thanks.

Can someone please help me??? I have been looking all over for the O-ring size (in inches) that that would hold a 1000ml Separatory Funnel properly, but the info is not on the Internet.
