Please bear with me as I have but a mear chemistry minor.  I am
interested in converting glycerol to a smaller MW alcohol, preferably
methanol or ethanol.  I think the best route would be cleavage at each
C-C bond, yield 3 MeOH per glycerol.  Unfortunately, I have been unable

How would I go about methylating an amine group? It doesn't need to be
extremely practical, just work in theory.  For example if I have
isopropylamine and I want to convert it to isopropylmethylamine what

I would like to prepare alpha chloroacetaldehyde from alpha
chloroacetaldehyde dimethyl acetal. i have tried all possible routes
in lit using PTSA, Sulphuric acid, hydrochloric acid etc.But i am not
able to get the complete chloroacetaldehyde.
