Evolution failure: human body can not withstand temperature variation29 Jun 2006 15:57 GMT55
Excessive heat or cold. But summer, winter are coming every year from
million years. If evolution theory is correct, human body should have
developed mechanism to absorb such temperature variation.
But we can not go out in heat. Streets get deserted in afternoon. Our
Huge database for bioinformatic algorithms26 Jun 2006 08:42 GMT2
I'm looking around for a huge database of bioinformatic algorithms
(perhaps in pseudocode or in a normal written form) for a long time.
Could anyone say my where I could find something like that?

Translation inefficiency queston26 Jun 2006 04:04 GMT4
When mRNA is translated into proteins, anticodons have to attach to the
codons, which then connect amino acids to the mRNA. This seems
incredibly inefficient to me. Resources and energy could be saved if
the amino acids could directly attach to the codons (and not use
Prion disease is caused by a virus or bacteria making the sites of protein sythesis go awry23 Jun 2006 20:53 GMT1
There has never been direct observable evidence of prion molecule
replication. I have been discussing the Prusiner Model for 10 years now
and find it very much flawed and in error.
There are many diseases of a similar category. They are Alzheimers,
EtOH-Ethylene pipe/engine conversion/corrosion21 Jun 2006 18:51 GMT11
Can EtOH be CHEAPLY converted back and forth to Ethylene?  What
does 170'F and H2SO4 cost? Why do they make ethanol from
petro-ethylene instead of using the ethylene?
All the corn in the USA would only supply 10% of the EtOH to power
Books on Biochemical, propagation21 Jun 2006 03:11 GMT1
I'm looking for infos on biochemicals, methods of propagation.
Thanks.
Cell Development?16 Jun 2006 18:35 GMT1
What tells a cell how to grow if all human cells have the same DNA?  Is
there another component that reads only specific parts of the DNA for
each cell type?

Call for Participation:  WORLDCOMP'06 (Computer Science & Computer Engineering), June 26-29, 2006, Las Vegas, USA14 Jun 2006 11:55 GMT1
I would be very grateful if you would share this announcement with
those who may be interested in participating in WORLDCOMP'06.

are all pandemics a result of cross-species microbes12 Jun 2006 18:51 GMT3
I noticed something recently that I did notice before. I knew HIV was
derived from ape virus. I knew bubonic plague was derived from rats and
fleas. I knew Spanish flu of 1918 was from bird flu that crossed into
human.
Primary events in the history of life12 Jun 2006 03:14 GMT5
Greetings folks. This is my first time here. I'd like to get a little
feedback on something. I need to identify the ten (or so) primary
events in the history of life. The list that I've come up with is:

Biology for a middle schooler?08 Jun 2006 04:42 GMT3
We're teaching our soon-to-be 5th grader at home, and I'm looking for a
good introduction to biology for him.  I'm looking for something that
gives a good, broad overview of biology.  Ideally a book I can go
through with him, supplementing with various resources, and
History of the AIDS virus transmission; question05 Jun 2006 03:51 GMT29
I am pretty tired now but a question keeps popping up. I was reflecting
back to the history of the AIDS virus and its transmission. It was
first known as the disease for blood transfusion and homosexual. The
idea was a blood transer as transmission.
Preparing for the H5N1 flu pandemic; possible start is December 200603 Jun 2006 23:03 GMT5
The best plan is the Isaac Newton plan which he used during the plague
in Europe, where Newton departed Cambridge and went home to live on his
apple farm.
People who have a farm or ranch where they can get away from the crowds
tool of Reassortment can predict when H5N1 goes airborne01 Jun 2006 23:28 GMT3
(1) A vague and murky picture of the medical history past is beginning
to emerge. During the Middle Ages with the Black Death of bubonic
plague bacterium, Reassortment of bubonic to form pneumonic plague
bacterium occurred. What was the second agent of Reassortment? Perhaps
