Can Viagra help a limp tree or flower ???31 Oct 2004 22:23 GMT15
You know it, flowers go limp after a few days, trees go limp after a storm.
Can Viagra help them?
Anyone tried to dissolve Viagra in water and pour the water on flowers or trees?
Seeds of Change by H. Hobhouse31 Oct 2004 13:17 GMT3
I emailed the group last year about a new seminar course I am teaching
this spring called "Plants That Changed The World".  Its not a botany
course, but rather one that discusses the myriad of different ways that
plants have affected our world including as fuel, food, medicine, wood

color of amur maples30 Oct 2004 12:28 GMT26
This year I am getting brilliant red and crimson from my amur maples. A
few years ago I was gruntled in seeing them very much yellow.
I am suspecting the hypothesis of water during the time they turn color
is the factor as to whether they are yellow or red.

Which came first, the Green Ash or the White Ash species26 Oct 2004 04:48 GMT22
What prompted this question? Well recently I bought some lumber of white
ash, plus hickory plus white oak and various others. I do not believe
the data on strength of wood is accurate and am wanting to test these
woods myself. I believe oak is stronger than hickory. I believe the
Compound leaves: primitive? or why?25 Oct 2004 04:54 GMT25
Curious idea came up about blackwalnuts and their compound leaves. Many
years back when I first learned that a leaf of blackwalnut was not just
one green blot like a oak leaf or a maple leaf but was some 7 or more
green blots on a stem.

can roots become a giant tumor?21 Oct 2004 14:48 GMT2
I've got a real mystery here. About 10 years ago I had an extension added to
my asphalt driveway. The last couple of years I noticed that it was starting
to heaving at the seam between the new and old portions. Since there's a
mature ponderosa pine about 10 feet away I though OK ...

A question for all the natural products afficionados out there17 Oct 2004 03:03 GMT14
am an MBA student (also, a Ph.D. in biochemistry) who is in the
process of writing a business plan as a class assignment.  In the
context of this assignment, I was wondering if anyone might be
able to suggest natural products which fit the following criteria:
Plant ID, Please16 Oct 2004 04:00 GMT3
In early 2002, I had a packet of mixed pepper seeds. I planted several,
mainly out of curiosity. I was rewarded with a nice jalapeno plant which
has given me several peppers.
But another plant grew up with it, that I have no idea what it is. For
