Recovering gold from ceramics gold paint31 Jul 2005 18:20 GMT16
I've got some Heraeus "Liquid Bright Gold" paints, types GG 1517- 10% and
GG1300-10%.  These are used to decorate ceramics and are thick dark brown
liquids formulated with solvents like Dipentene and Dichloromethane with
some gold compound. When fired they should give a bright ...
enery in redox vs photon30 Jul 2005 00:37 GMT1
i'm working with a compound that changes conformation when a photon
with a certain wavelength hits it. from this i can calculate the energy
required for the isomerization (h*c/lambda).
this compound can also change confromation from a redox reaction. i
density29 Jul 2005 21:05 GMT4
How to calculate density of liquid mixture ( CH4,C2H6,C2H4,C2H2,C3H8,C3H6)
if I have folowing data available : mol fraction of each component, x,  and
actual  measured flow in m^3/h
What I know is that  ro = m / V = ( n*M ) / V

Sincerely,
A question about catalyst, pls help28 Jul 2005 07:39 GMT7
Either catalysts only change the rate of decomposition reations or any
kind of reactions. For example, N2+3H2-->2NH3, is there any catalyst
can increase the rate of formation of NH3?
WANTED Bindschedler's Green Leuco Base27 Jul 2005 15:47 GMT5

reference to the convenient prep of same  that would be fine too.
THANKS FOR ANY HELP THAT YOU CAN OFFER.
Help with Chemistry/Magic Lessons...27 Jul 2005 11:44 GMT12
I recently purchased two book on eBay entitled Gospel Magic with
Chemistry,
Vol. 1 and Gospel Magic with Chemistry, Vol. 2.  They are both by Dennis
Regling.
Rapid Phase Transformation.27 Jul 2005 03:57 GMT1
I want to know about the following things.
1. What is Rapid Phase Transformation?
2. What is its significance in relation to Natural Gas?
3. Is it good or bad?
molarity27 Jul 2005 01:28 GMT14
Let's assume 100 g of NaCl (MW = 58 g./ mol) is dissolved in 3.5 L of water.
Is the molarity

Basic copper(II) carbonate dot?27 Jul 2005 00:41 GMT8
In the formula CuCO3.Cu(OH)2 +4HCl => 2CuCl2 +CO2 + 3H2O
is the dot between CuCO3 Cu(OH)2 the sharing of an ionic bond?
I am familiar with understanding chemical formula but could someone
help and explain the dot?  Is the dot used because it is a transition?
protic vs aprotic26 Jul 2005 17:06 GMT2
According to many books, protic solvents favor E1 and Sn2 reactions.
Why is ethanol frequently used in E2 reactions???!!!
Here is an example:
[(CH3)3C-Br + CH3CH2-Na+ ](in ethanol) -> (CH3)2C=CH2 (97%) E2 rxn*
vapor pressure26 Jul 2005 00:32 GMT6
I don't quite understand my book's explanation for the following question.
Which one is NOT true regarding vapor pressure
A. Solids have a vapor pressure (this is obviously true)
B. The vapor pressure of a pure liquid does not depend on the amount of
pH required to decompose calcite?25 Jul 2005 18:17 GMT5
Although I know more chemistry than the typical bloke on the street or
college graduate, I am not a professional chemist.
How would I go about calculating the pH at which calcium carbonate
(limestone, calcite, marble) decomposes to give carbon dioxide? Getting a
alcohols all have the same surface tension?25 Jul 2005 12:39 GMT5
do all the commonly available alcohols have approximately the same
(low 20's of dynes/cm)  surface tension?
Red-sensitive recording medium24 Jul 2005 20:43 GMT3
       I need a simple red-sensitive recording medium.
I have a ~7mw HeNe laser. I need to record the cross section of the
beam at various distances under various conditions. To be more
specific: I need to record the baseline appearance of the beam, then
