| What can this material be used as? | 31 Jul 2009 15:52 GMT | 2 |
We synthesized a carbon supported platinum catalyst for fuel cell. Occasionally, we found that this catalyst can catalyse Hydrogen and ethanol to burn in room temperature. Now we are very curious which field this property of the catalyst can be applied? If someone feels

| Solubility of silica in molten sodium tungstate | 29 Jul 2009 02:33 GMT | 1 |
In a now classical study of the polymorphism of silica in 1913 Fenner used molten sodium tungstate, Na2WO4, as a solvent for silica, but he did not report how much silica can be dissolved at various tempertures. It might be only a few percent at 1000C.

| Converting methane to electricity? | 06 Jul 2009 15:11 GMT | 8 |
Googling "Converting methane to electricity" returns results that burn it and then use the kinetic energy of the gas to drive a prime mover of an electricity generator. As someone who's a complete incompetent in this area, I would have thought that most generators using this
