I live in Northwest Oklahoma and have noticed a flying insect as of
lately. I found probably thousands of them on the south side of my
apartment building on the brick outside (others I have talked to have
also noticed this swarming on the south side of a building). When I

Hi folks...
I lurk here periodically and was wondering if anyone might want to take a
stab at identifying a couple of insects.

What could these tiny things be?28 Oct 2004 08:02 GMT2

deck rail and a whole bunch of tiny white-ish insects began
scattering around looking for cover.

"Lemon fresh" ants???26 Oct 2004 16:58 GMT2
Today while working in my wood-framed attached garage, I noticed several
flying "ant like" insects.  Since the house has been treated for
termites in the past, I was a bit concerned, so I snagged one of the

Stink Bug24 Oct 2004 13:59 GMT8
I took a picture of a very small bug and I'd like to figure out what
kind of bug it is.
It looks like a stink bug but it didn't stink and it has a snout that
looks like a straw that it could stick into a flower, etc..

I'm getting eaten up all day long by some kind of insect.  I think
it's either chiggers or bedbugs.  How do I tell which?

Erynnis maritalis in Florida - old news14 Oct 2004 21:02 GMT6
I was surprised when opening my Lep. Soc. News today to find an article by
John Calhoun stating that he had finally "confirmed" Erynnis martialis in
