I was recently reasing an article on the Zebra Swallowtail and it
mentioned that the species puddles where they use the nitrogen left by
urinating animals.

I run transects at 2-3 sites here in central Ohio, and Ladies, either Painted or American, have been AWOL all Spring & Summer so far.  Red Admirals, however, have been in normal numbers, and Monarchs (as most have noted) were early & common.

We just noticed quite a few small (approx. 1 mm long) dark (black?)
bugs in our living room, mostly on the curtain near the balcony door
(which is open during the day because of the high temperatures). The
walk around, but when annoyed they jump/fly away.

My son and I started a little bug collection, mainly drowning victims
from the pond. We put them in rubbing alcohol to make sure they are
