Greetings all Can anyone tell me which spelling is correct for the genus of Geometrid moths including A. pampinaria. Both spellings (Anavitrinelia and Anavitrinella) are in wide use on the web - and the anal part of my brain would like to get it "right". help help Gary Anweiler

What are these fellows up to? They did not dismount upon being moved. The next day, in my jar, they were separate. Upon release, they seemed groggy and did not fly.

I live just north of Salt Lake City and have seen a few of these around lately and my daughter was curious as to what they were...their bodies (sans legs) are about the size of a grain of sand and they move rather slowly. These pictures were taken in my kitchen on the floor:
